Balera started with a surf session at the Rockaways and a conversation between five Italian friends about what they missed most from home.

Lorenzo Rubini, Tancredi Bareti, Luca Pelliccioni, Lourenço DeAlmeida, and Oliviero Lucchetti, together with Chef Michael Cusumano, took that feeling and built something around it in Williamsburg.

The name says everything. A Balera is an Italian dance hall born after World War II, a place where communities gathered to eat, drink, dance, and simply be together. That convivial, generous spirit is exactly what we brought to Brooklyn.

We're five friends who believed the perfect night out shouldn't be hard to find, so we built it ourselves. The pizza we truly crave. A curated wine list. Cocktails that surprise you in the best way. A menu designed for passing plates and enjoying the moment, tasting old memories.

This is not just an Italian restaurant. It's a room built around the idea that a great meal should feel like a celebration, the way dinner always did back home.
